7/6/2015: Lake Wylie fishing report for the week of July 6th. With temperatures in the mid 90s this week the water temperature will remain quite warm. The warm water has stabilized the catfish bite on the lake allowing for channel catfish to be caught in the mornings on cut bait before the fish move deeper during the heat of the day. Blue catfish can be found near the old river channel and underwater structures in 20-30 feet of water.. Target sharp drop-offs and points into deep water while the dam is generating power are still productive. Shad, cut bluegill, and white perch continue to be the preferred bait for catfish this time of the season.
Now get out there and catch your dinner!!!
